n 2000 Pastor Scott and Dawn moved home to Defiance, where Dawn had grown up, to join the staff at DCN as the Youth Pastor.  They attended Olivet Nazarene University where they met and married in 1991. After graduation, Scott with a BA in Psychology and Dawn with a BS in Nursing, moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Pastor Scott attended Nazarene Theological Seminary and was the youth pastor at St. Paul’s Church of the Nazarene.  He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 2001. Pastor Scott and Dawn love serving the Defiance church with their children; Connor, Reagan and Caleb.

After many years of mentoring by Pastor Don Leonard, Pastor Scott and Pastor Terra Gorrell, were unanimously elected as Co-Lead Pastors of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene in 2022.
